University of Patanjali (UOP), located near the tranquil Himalayan foothills in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, is named after Maharshi Patanjali, the sage who compiled the first aphorisms on Yoga around 900 BC. Established under Uttarakhand State Legislature Act No. 4/2006 and approved by the UGC, UOP is sponsored by Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust and affiliated with the Association of Indian Universities. Job Profile for Placement Officer:
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Training & Placement Officer to join our team. The Placement Officer will be responsible for building strong relationships with companies and industries to facilitate the placement of students. The role involves planning, organizing and implementing placement activities, preparing students for employment and tracking placement outcomes to ensure high success rates.
Qualification & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Management/HR or a related field.
- Minimum 2-5 years in placement coordination, corporate relations or training (experience in educational institutions preferred).
- Strong communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and database management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with companies, industries and organizations to secure placement opportunities for students.
- Plan and execute on-campus and off-campus recruitment drives, job fairs and employer engagement programs to connect students with job opportunities.
- Conduct workshops, mock interviews and training sessions on resume writing, interview skills and career development to enhance student employability.
- Facilitate internships and project opportunities by collaborating with industry partners and academic departments.
- Maintain comprehensive records of placement activities, student profiles and job opportunities while analyzing placement statistics for institutional reporting.
- Stay updated on market trends, industry demands and emerging job roles to align placement strategies with industry requirements.
- Work closely with faculty and administrative teams to ensure seamless integration of placement efforts with academic goals and student career aspirations.
- Establish connections with alumni to leverage their networks for placement and mentorship opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities:
This includes but not limited to the following:
- Generally aware of best practices and business/industry trends.
- Participate in VC/audio calls along with your manager and record the minutes as required.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
